Review of Goals and Objectives for Blueprint for Action
At the Coordinating Committee meeting of October 28, 2011, the goals for Regional Transportation Operations and Traffic Incident Management were reviewed and suggestions for action items for the coming year were made by the committee members.

Tom Bruff, from SEMCOG, will add the new action items to the Blueprint for Action and discuss the next steps for regional transportation operations activities at the January 20, 2012 Coordinating Committee meeting.

Program for Partnering Workshop-March 15, 2012
Committee members discussed the program items for the Partnering Workshop on March 15, 2012 and decided that the best practices for each of the responding agencies should be emphasized as part of this workshop.  Marcia Wright, from AAA Michigan, will invite Bill George of the Michigan Towing Association to provide some insights on the tow operator's role in traffic incident management.

The program should also include best practices used by local police agencies along I-75 and I-94.

Registration for the meeting should start at 7:45 AM and the meeting should start at 8:00 AM.

SEMCOG will assemble a resource folder to be distributed to attendees at the conference and materials should be submitted to Tom Bruff by the end of February.  Items in the resource folder should include the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Annual Report and the National Unified Goal for Traffic Incident Management.

Sarah Gill, from MDOT, will issue invitations for this partnering workshop.  Save the Date announcement should go out by January 15, 2012.  The partnering workshop should announce the event at Fire Officials meeting January 12, 2012 at the Club Venetian in Madison Heights.

Tom Bruff will arrange for registration for the partnering workshop on the SEMCOG website.

AAA Michigan will arrange for the continental breakfast and lunch to be served at the AAA Michigan Headquarters.  A draft agenda for the partnering workshop is attached for information.

Michigan Intelligent Transportation Systems Center (MITSC) Relocation
MDOT will get access to the new building on January 9, 2012.  They anticipate it will take 4 to 6 months for the move from the existing Intelligent Transportation Systems Center to the new building.  There will be a 30 day transition period when both the existing center and the new center are operating simultaneously.  The move is expected to be complete by mid-July 2012.

Next Planning Subcommittee Meeting
The next meeting for the Planning Subcommittee will be held at 2:00 PM on January 10, 2012, at AAA Headquarters in Dearborn.

These minutes are intended to be a summary of those items discussed. Any corrections and/or comments should be noted to the writer as soon as possible.

Respectfully submitted,

HUBBELL, ROTH & CLARK, INC.

Richard F. Beaubien, P.E., PTOE
Chair-Southeast Michigan Regional Transportation Operations Coordinating Committee
