About ITS Michigan        

ITS Michigan is a state chapter under ITS America, which was established in 1991 as a not-for-profit organization to foster the use of advanced technologies in surface transportation systems. Since then, ITS America has become a national advocate for the development and deployment of intelligent transportation systems in the U.S. Members include private corporations, public agencies, academic institutions and research centers. The national organization and the state chapters share a common goal: to improve the safety, security and efficiency of the nation’s transportation system for the traveling public through the deployment of ITS.

 

What is ITS Michigan?

The Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan is an organization of leaders, a central point of contact where industry can be in touch with leaders of transportation and education. ITS Michigan is a forum that allows a diverse group of people to provide insight on current ITS projects, as well as develop ideas for the future.

ITS Michigan members are involved in research at outstanding Michigan universities and institutional research organizations, and is an advocacy group, promoting the importance of ITS at business meetings and other forums.

 

How does ITS Michigan do it?

Through the ITS Michigan program, organizations are involved and informed through various means.

 

Why ITS Michigan?

As with any growing industry, information on ITS changes rapidly. Keeping up with such rapid change can be difficult. ITS Michigan is an association that allows its members access to a multitude of information and enables them to have contact with companies involved in ITS innovation.

 

Who is in ITS Michigan?

ITS Michigan's membership includes a cross-section of interests in Intelligent Transportation Systems from Michigan and throughout the region. The organization consists of various groups, companies and associations, ranging from auto manufacturers to consulting firms; product manufacturers to design firms; from federal, state and local governments to universities and public transit agencies. Each of these members has a unique perspective and knowledge, which help provide the diverse information needed to further develop and refine Intelligent Transportation Systems.
